In 1941 Soviet Russia, the Nazis remove twenty-two priceless amber panels from Catherine Palace and ship them to an unknown location. After the war, an eighty-year quest for their recovery becomes ensnared in a web of cover-ups, shipwrecks, Cold War politics, false confessions, and mysterious deaths. Was the Amber Room destroyed? Was it cursed? Or is it simply waiting to be found?
